dress code: NOT the same ole, same ole

When you have a Danish brand of a Spanish name (mismo means same in spanish) with bags manufactured in Turkey of supreme Italian fabrics, you get a superb, global product that is NOT the same as anyone else.  Mismo has carved an impressive path in a short time. The vision was born in 2003.  The first collection launched in 2006.  Mismo was displayed in Copenhagen’s oldest and most renown design house, Illums Bolighus in 2007.  The first canvas collection was launched in 2008.  In 2010, Mismo collaborated with Colette and British designer Peter Pilotto for a special printed bag for Another Magazine. And in 2011, Mismo was named in Monocle’s “Top 10 Danish Designers” in the Monocle Denmark Survey 2012.  Not too shabby!

MENTORS NOTE: Lose the nylon bags at home (and we know you have them) and invest in one of these classic totes.  Whether its one of their magazine bags, a weekend tote, or an elegant duffel, you want your bag to carry its own weight (no pun intended). Their weekend tote shown above is perfect for day trips or weekend getaway.  If you are flying, do us a favor and use this bag as a carry on! Checking this bag in would be tragic! Do you know what those bags go through before they reach your destination?! Keep it close to you and it’ll extend its shelf life.

Visit their website at www.mismo.dk or swing by Barneys to check out their collection.
